What is The Outdoor BBQ?
The Outdoor BBQ is our complete barbecue package on the Boekhorstlaan in Harderwijk, a stone's throw from the Veluwemeer and the Veluwe forests. You get a generous selection of meat, fresh side dishes and sauces. The barbecue is ready and waiting; you grab the tongs and get going.
The format is deliberately easy-going. No chef walking past the tables, no fixed time slot when everything is served. You set the pace yourselves, pour the drinks, pull up a chair and enjoy it together. That's why this package works so well for groups who actually want time with each other, rather than with a menu.
From 8 people, suitable for young and old. The barbecue stands outside under a canopy, and if it rains you sit down at a table indoors.
On Saturday 16 May 2026 we had a fantastic family day at Outdoor Harderwijk: first coffee and cake, then a lovely ride through the forests on the E-chopper, followed by a brilliant BBQ.

For €29.95 per person you get an extensive package that you cook yourselves on the barbecue.

The Outdoor BBQ suits almost any group, precisely because the format is so open. What we often see:

Groups of up to 100 people are welcome. For larger groups, we're happy to help plan the details.
Practical information
For children there are several options:
- Children's BBQ (up to 12 years): €14.95 per child
- Kids' menu with chips and a snack: €8.50 per child
- Drinks package for children: €10 per child
Location: Boekhorstlaan 1, Harderwijk. Free parking right by the door.
Booking: we can often arrange requests up to one day in advance, because our own kitchen and in-house BBQ preparation make us flexible. You're of course welcome to book earlier.
Weather: the BBQ always goes ahead. We have a canopy that keeps the barbecue dry, and we set up the buffet indoors so you can sit in the dry.

What's the minimum number of people for the BBQ?
The Outdoor BBQ is available from 8 people. For smaller groups we'll look at suitable alternatives, such as a lunch buffet or an extended drinks package.
Do you have vegetarian options?
Yes, vegetarians get meat substitutes alongside the regular meat package. We're happy to cater for other wishes too; just let us know when you send your request.
What happens in bad weather?
The BBQ always goes ahead. Thanks to our canopy the barbecue stays dry, and we set up the buffet indoors. So you stay dry, even when it rains.
Can we book the BBQ without an activity?
Certainly. From 8 people you're welcome for just the barbecue, for example for a birthday, summer drinks or an anniversary. Get in touch to discuss the options.
How far in advance do we need to book?
Thanks to our own kitchen and in-house BBQ preparation, we can often arrange requests up to one day in advance. Earlier is of course fine too, and gives us extra time to take your wishes into account.
Is a drinks package included?
No, drinks are not included as standard. You can add the Dutch bar drinks package (€17.50 pp for 2 hours), or drinks can be paid for separately.
Up to what group size can you cater a BBQ?
We can comfortably handle up to around 100 people. For larger groups, we'll help think through the details and planning.
